SDI Pola Office+ is a hydrogen peroxide–based in-office tooth whitening system designed to deliver fast, effective results with minimal chair time. The neutral pH gel contains desensitizing agents to enhance patient comfort, while the dual-barrel syringe system ensures automatic mixing during direct application to the tooth surface.

Contra-Indications

• Do not use on pregnant or lactating women
• Do not use on children under 14 years of age
• Do not use the Gingival Barrier on patients with known resin allergies
• Do not use on patients with known peroxide allergies
• Will not whiten restorative materials
• Do not use on patients with extremely sensitive teeth

Directions for Use

Instructions for Vital Tooth Whitening

• Determine and record pre-operative shade
• Clean teeth using only flour-based pumice
• Place cheek retractors and apply petroleum gel to exposed lips
• Dry teeth and apply Gingival Barrier, overlapping enamel and interproximal areas
• Light cure Gingival Barrier for 10–20 seconds until set
• Attach mixing nozzle and dispense a small amount until uniform gel is obtained
• Apply a thin layer of gel directly to teeth in a continuous motion
• Leave gel on for 8 minutes (optional light activation as per manufacturer’s guidelines)
• Suction off gel using a surgical aspirator tip
• Repeat application 3 times (optional 4th application)
• After final application, suction and rinse thoroughly
• Remove Gingival Barrier and record final shade

Tips for Non-Vital Tooth Whitening

• Ensure effective isolation of the tooth
• Protect oral mucosa to prevent chemical burns
• Confirm adequate endodontic obturation
• Use a protective barrier to prevent peroxide contact with periodontal ligament
• Avoid acid etching to reduce ligament irritation
• Inform patients that non-vital teeth may not match vital teeth exactly
• Recall patients periodically for clinical and radiographic evaluation

Instructions for Non-Vital Tooth Whitening

• Determine and record pre-operative shade
• Isolate tooth using a rubber dam with tight cervical seal
• Prepare lingual access and remove restorative material and gutta percha 2–3 mm apical to CEJ
• Place a minimum 1 mm glass ionomer or zinc phosphate base
• Apply Pola Office+ gel into pulp chamber and onto labial surface
• Leave gel for 8 minutes (optional light activation)
• Suction off gel and repeat until desired shade is achieved
• After final application, suction and rinse thoroughly
• Record final shade
