Strontium plays a unique role by mimicking calcium during the formation of strontium hydroxyapatite and strontium fluoroapatite, supporting internal remineralization of tooth structure. When placed in a calcium-rich environment such as saliva, the cement undergoes surface strengthening over time, enhancing durability.
