Tedequim FAgamin® Silver Diamine Fluoride 38% (SDF) – Dental Caries Remover Solution

Tedequim FAgamin® is a 38% Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) solution designed for caries arrest, remineralization, and dentinal desensitization. It combines the proven antibacterial action of silver with the remineralizing and cariostatic benefits of fluoride, offering a powerful, non-invasive approach to caries management.

FAgamin® contains diamine silver fluoride (Ag(NH₃)₂F), which reacts chemically with hydroxyapatite to form calcium fluoride and silver phosphate deposits on the tooth surface. These deposits reinforce and protect enamel and dentin, explaining the strong remineralizing and caries-arresting effects. Silver ions inhibit bacterial growth and enzymatic activity, while fluoride ions reduce hydroxyapatite solubility and slow caries progression.

When applied to active carious lesions, FAgamin® produces a characteristic dark deposit due to the reaction of silver ions with organic material. This also allows it to function as a caries detector. Skin or soft-tissue staining, if any, is temporary.

Instructions for Use

• Wash and thoroughly dry the tooth before treatment
• Dampen a cotton swab or soft brush with 2–3 drops of FAgamin®
• Apply and rub gently over the tooth surface for 1–2 minutes
• Allow to act for a few minutes, then rinse to remove residue
• Isolate soft tissues with cotton rolls or rubber dam
• When lesions are close to gingiva, protect tissues with petroleum jelly or cocoa butter
