Coltene Roeko Gingiva Liquid

Coltene Roeko Gingiva Liquid is an astringent, styptic solution containing 10% aluminium chloride hexahydrate. It provides effective gingival retraction and hemostasis without the use of epinephrine, helping reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

This solution is widely used in restorative and prosthetic procedures to control bleeding and prepare gingival tissues prior to impression taking.

Indications:

• Electrosurgery procedures
• Use with retraction cords
• Gingival treatment prior to taking impressions
• Impregnation of retraction cords

Composition:

• 1 ml aqueous solution contains 100 mg aluminium chloride hexahydrate

Contraindications:

• Should not be used in cases of acute gingivitis
• Should not be used in acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis
• Use in inflamed areas should be carefully considered, as gingival retraction may cause tissue damage

Key Notes:

• Does not contain epinephrine
• Has a bitter taste due to aluminium chloride hexahydrate

Directions for Use:

• Step 1: Thoroughly moisten the required length of dry, non-impregnated retraction cord using the dosage applicator.
• Step 2: After preparing and drying the tooth, place the retraction cord closely around the cervix and gently ease it into the sulcus using a retraction cord packer or spatula.
• Step 3: During impression preparation, the mechanical effect of the cord, supported by the aluminium salt, provides effective gingival retraction.
• Step 4: After approximately 1–3 minutes, the sulcus opens and any bleeding caused during preparation is controlled. The impression can be taken immediately after removing the cord, especially to capture the cervical preparation margin.
• Step 5: Rinse the treated area with water after the impression has been taken.
