Each disc features multiple detachable, petal-shaped sections. After every clinical use, one or more petals are manually removed. The remaining petals serve as a visual indicator of how many safe uses remain for the file, allowing clinicians to monitor file usage accurately and improve procedural safety.

Insert the Safety Memory Disc (SMD) onto the file before first use.
After each use, manually remove one petal from the disc.
The number of remaining petals indicates the number of safe uses left.
For rotary instruments, remove petals according to case complexity:

2 petals: Simple cases (straight, slightly curved or wide canals; radius ≥ 25 mm)
4 petals: Moderately complex cases (curved or narrow canals; radius 25–11 mm)
6 petals: Difficult cases (severely curved, S-shaped, very narrow or calcified canals; radius ≤ 11 mm)
