3M ESPE Filtek™ P60 Micro Hybrid Posterior Syringe (Original)

3M ESPE Filtek™ P60 Posterior Restorative is a visible light-activated, radiopaque micro-hybrid composite specifically designed for posterior restorations. Manufactured in the USA, it combines superior packability, excellent strength, and outstanding wear resistance for long-lasting posterior performance.

Filtek P60 uses a zirconia/silica filler system with a high filler load, providing low polymerization shrinkage and excellent marginal adaptation. Its non-sticky, packable consistency allows easy sculpting with minimal slumping, making it ideal for Class I and II restorations.

Composition

• Zirconia/Silica inorganic filler (61% by volume)
• Particle size range: 0.01 – 3.5 μm
• BIS-GMA resin
• UDMA resin
• BIS-EMA resin

Indications

• Direct posterior restorations (Class I and II)
• Sandwich technique with glass ionomer materials
• Cusp build-ups
• Core build-ups
• Splinting
• Indirect posterior restorations including inlays and onlays

Instructions for Use

Preparation

• Clean teeth with pumice and water to remove surface stains
• Select shade prior to isolation using Filtek P60 shade guide
• Isolate using rubber dam (preferred) or cotton rolls with suction

Direct Restorations

• Prepare cavity with rounded internal line angles
• Protect pulp if indicated using calcium hydroxide followed by Vitrebond™ liner/base
• Place matrix band and wedges to establish proper contour and contact
• Apply adhesive system as per manufacturer’s instructions
• Dispense composite from syringe; protect from ambient light
• Place in increments not exceeding 2.5 mm
• Light cure each increment for 20 seconds (≥400 mW/cm², 400–500 nm)
• Finish and contour using fine diamonds, burs, or Sof-Lex™ strips
• Check and adjust occlusion
• Polish using Sof-Lex™ Finishing and Polishing System

Indirect Restorations (Inlays / Onlays)

• Prepare tooth and take impression
• Fabricate restoration on die using incremental layering technique
• Light cure each increment as recommended
• Finish, adjust, and polish restoration
• Cement using a 3M ESPE resin cement system
