The Dentsply Cavity Access Set, developed in collaboration with Dr. Ruddle, Dr. Machtou, and Dr. West, provides an improved and efficient method for endodontic access preparation in a single, comprehensive package. It is designed to help clinicians achieve predictable access cavities with enhanced visibility, control, and endodontic quality.

This set allows complete removal of the pulp chamber roof, including all pulp horns, ensuring direct access to root canals, creation of an effective irrigation reservoir, and a proper foundation for restorative procedures.

Directions to Use

1. For Natural and Healthy Teeth or After Crown Boring

• Round Carbide Burs ISO Ø 010 and 014 (REF E 0123)
• Used to cut surfacially into the occlusal face to remove the entire pulp chamber roof, including all pulp horns
• Gradually progress towards the pulp chamber
• Use obliquely for improved control, visibility, and efficiency

2. For Restored Teeth (Ceramic Crowns)

• Round Diamond Bur ISO Ø 016 (REF F 0001)
• Use with a light brush-cutting action and water spray
• Progressively sands and removes tooth-colored restorative materials

3. For Metal Frameworks or Crowns

• Transmetal Bur (REF E 0153)
• Used to bore through metal frameworks or crowns

4. For Pulpal Floor Finishing

• Diamond Conical Bur (REF F 0199)
• Used to finish cavity walls
• Precisely finishes the pulpal floor and helps uncover hidden canal openings

5. X-Gates (REF A 0008)

• Unique instrument combining the advantages of Gates 1, 2, 3, and 4
• Tip of Gates No.1 enables easy insertion into the coronal third of the canal
